By this week I had started to get the hang of the quizzes, papers, journal entries, readings, and discussion forums. I felt confident about submitting my final draft for paper 1. Annotating and commenting on my own paper was something I had never tried before but I found it to be helpful. I had to create a post about the reading Shooting an Elephant. I liked that we had to discuss this passage in our discussion forum because everyone had different reasons for their decisions. I felt that George Orwell made the right decision to shoot the elephant because it had already killed someone but that he didn't make that decision for the right reason. Others made great points about how the elephant was calming down and didn't need to be killed. The only thing that could have been improved is that I wasn't aware that we had assignments due before class on Monday.
